The Vishay Dale SMPC36A-M3/87A is a surface mount Transient Voltage Suppressor (TVS) diode from the TRANSZORB® series. It is designed to protect sensitive electronics from voltage transients induced by inductive load switching and lighting. This device features a very low profile with a typical height of 1.1 mm, making it ideal for automated placement.
Key electrical characteristics include a breakdown voltage range of 6.40V to 104V and a working voltage range of 5.0V to 85V. It provides excellent clamping capability with a peak pulse power of 1500W (10/1000 μs waveform) and a clamping voltage of 58.1V at a peak pulse current of 25.8A. The operating temperature range is -55°C to 150°C.
Packaged in a TO-277A (SMPC) case, the SMPC36A-M3/87A is suitable for general-purpose applications in consumer, computer, industrial, and telecommunication equipment. It meets MSL level 1 and is RoHS-compliant. The terminals are matte tin plated and solderable per J-STD-002.
