The Vishay Dale SMPC28A-M3/86A is a surface mount Transient Voltage Suppressor (TVS) diode designed for protecting sensitive electronics. It features a unidirectional configuration with a breakdown voltage ranging from 6.40V to 104V and a working voltage from 5.0V to 85V.
This TVS diode boasts a high peak pulse power dissipation of 1500W (1.5kW) and a nominal clamping voltage of 45.4V at 33A. It operates reliably within a temperature range of -55°C to 150°C.
Ideal for automated placement, the SMPC28A-M3/86A comes in a compact TO-277A (SMPC) package, making it suitable for space-constrained designs. Its fast response time and excellent clamping capability provide robust protection against voltage transients induced by inductive load switching and lighting.
Applications include protection for ICs, MOSFETs, and signal lines in consumer, computer, industrial, and telecommunication equipment, safeguarding sensitive components against transient overvoltages.
