The SMP28A-M3/84A is a Zener-type transient voltage suppression (TVS) diode from Vishay Dale, designed to protect sensitive electronics from voltage transients. It features a working voltage of 28V and a maximum clamping voltage of 45.4V at a peak pulse current of 8.8A (10/1000 μs waveform). The device can dissipate 400W of peak pulse power under the same waveform conditions.
This TVS diode offers a very fast response time and low incremental surge resistance, making it suitable for high-speed transient protection. It is housed in a low-profile DO-220AA (SMP) surface mount package with a typical height of 1.0 mm, enabling use in space-constrained designs. The operating junction temperature range is -55°C to 150°C.
