The SMM4F12A-TR is a unidirectional TVS (Transient Voltage Suppression) diode from STMicroelectronics, designed to protect sensitive electronics from voltage transients. It features a reverse standoff voltage of 12V, a clamping voltage of 25.3V, and can handle peak pulse currents up to 91A (8/20µs waveform).
With a peak pulse power rating of 400W, this device is suitable for general purpose transient protection in a variety of applications. It is mounted using surface mount technology and comes in a DO-222AA package, which is also designated as DO222-AA.
The operating junction temperature range is -55°C to 175°C, allowing use in harsh environments. The unidirectional design provides effective clamping for positive voltage spikes, making it ideal for protecting 12V power lines and signal lines.
