The Bourns SMLJ150CA is a bidirectional Zener transient voltage suppressor (TVS) diode designed for general purpose circuit protection. It features a reverse standoff voltage of 150V, a minimum breakdown voltage of 167V, and a maximum clamping voltage of 243V at 12.4A peak pulse current. The device can handle 3000W (3kW) of peak pulse power under a 10/1000µs waveform, making it suitable for surge protection applications.
This TVS diode is rated for a peak forward surge current of 300A (8.3ms single half sine wave) and has a steady state power dissipation of 5.0W at 75°C lead temperature. It operates over a junction temperature range of -55°C to +150°C and stores within the same range. The SMLJ150CA is not intended for power line protection.
The device is housed in a surface mount SMC (DO-214AB) package, which is compatible with standard pick-and-place equipment. It is RoHS3 compliant and has an MSL rating of 1 (unlimited). The SMLJ series is designed for applications requiring ESD protection per IEC 61000-4-2 (Level 4), EFT per IEC 61000-4-4, and surge per IEC 61000-4-5.
