The SMF7V0A-HM3-08 from Vishay Dale is a transient voltage suppression (TVS) diode designed to protect sensitive electronics from overvoltage transients and electrostatic discharge (ESD).
This TVS diode features a reverse standoff voltage of 7V and a breakdown voltage of 12V. It offers a peak pulse power rating of 200W for a 10/1000μs waveform and 1000W for an 8/20μs waveform. The forward clamping voltage is 2.5V at 50A (tp=400μs). For surge protection, it can handle a peak forward surge current of 50A (8.3ms single half sine-wave).
ESD immunity is rated at ±30kV for both contact and air discharge per IEC 61000-4-2, making it suitable for I/O port protection. The diode has a typical capacitance of 843pF at 1MHz. It operates over a junction temperature range of -65°C to 175°C with a thermal resistance of 180 K/W (on specified PCB).
