The SMF7.0A is a unidirectional TVS diode from Littelfuse, part of the SMF4L series. It is designed to protect sensitive electronic equipment from voltage transients induced by lightning and other transient voltage events.
This device features a reverse standoff voltage of 7V and a clamping voltage of 12V. It can handle 400W peak pulse power (10/1000µs waveform) and 2000W peak pulse power (8/20µs waveform). The SMF7.0A provides ESD protection up to 30kV (air and contact discharge) per IEC 61000-4-2, with a response time of less than 1ns.
The SMF7.0A is suitable for protecting I/O interfaces, VCC bus, and other vulnerable circuits in cellular phones, portable devices, business machines, power supplies, and consumer applications. Its low profile and low inductance make it ideal for surface mount applications to optimize board space.
The device is housed in a SOD-123F (SOD-123FL) surface mount package with matte tin lead-free termination. It operates over a junction temperature range of -55°C to 150°C and has a maximum power dissipation of 1W on infinite heat sink at TL=50°C.
The reverse standoff voltage is 7V nominal.
The maximum clamping voltage is 12V.
The maximum peak pulse current is 16.7A for a 10/1000µs waveform.
