The SMF43A is a unidirectional TVS diode from Littelfuse designed to protect sensitive electronics from voltage transients. With a reverse standoff voltage of 43V and a maximum clamping voltage of 69.4V at 2.9A peak pulse current, it provides robust protection for general purpose applications. The device is capable of handling 200W peak pulse power (10/1000μs waveform) and offers ESD protection of 30kV air and contact per IEC 61000-4-2. It also provides EFT protection per IEC 61000-4-4 with a response time of less than 1ns.
The SMF43A is housed in a compact SOD-123F surface mount package, making it suitable for space-constrained designs. It operates over a temperature range of -55°C to 150°C and is RoHS compliant and halogen-free. The device is part of the SMF4L series from Littelfuse, known for low inductance and excellent clamping capability. Typical applications include protection of I/O interfaces, VCC bus, and other vulnerable circuits in cellular phones, portable devices, business machines, and power supplies.
