The SMF24A-E3-08 is a TVS (Transient Voltage Suppression) diode from Vishay Dale designed to protect sensitive electronics from voltage transients and ESD events. It features a reverse stand-off voltage of 24V and a maximum clamping voltage of 38.9V at 5.1A peak pulse current. The device offers robust surge protection with a peak pulse power dissipation of 200W for a 10/1000μs waveform and 1000W for an 8/20μs waveform.
For ESD protection, the SMF24A-E3-08 provides ±30kV immunity for both contact and air discharge per IEC 61000-4-2, making it suitable for applications requiring high reliability. The device has a low reverse leakage current of 0.1μA at 24V and a capacitance of 244pF at 1MHz, balancing protection with signal integrity.
The TVS diode is housed in a DO-219AB (SMF) surface mount package, with a thermal resistance of 180 K/W when mounted on standard epoxy glass PCB with copper pads. It operates over a junction temperature range of -55°C to 175°C. The SMF24A-E3-08 is available in tape and reel packaging options of 3K per 7-inch reel and 10K per 13-inch reel.
