The SMF22A-E3-08 is a transient voltage suppression (TVS) diode designed to protect sensitive electronics from voltage transients. It has a working voltage of 22V, a breakdown voltage of 24.4V, and a clamping voltage of 35.5V at a peak pulse current of 5.6A (10/1000 µs waveform). The device can handle 200W of peak pulse power under the 10/1000 µs waveform and 1000W under the 8/20 µs waveform per IEC 61000-4-5. It offers excellent ESD immunity of ±30 kV for both contact and air discharge per IEC 61000-4-2, and >8 kV per AEC-Q101 (HBM, Class H3B).
The diode is housed in a surface-mount DO-219AB (SMF) package, suitable for automated assembly. It has a diode capacitance of 271 pF at 1 MHz and a low forward voltage of 2.5 V at 50 A. The operating junction temperature range is -65°C to 175°C with a thermal resistance of 180 K/W when mounted on a standard epoxy glass PCB with 3 mm x 3 mm copper pads.
This TVS diode is ideal for protecting power supplies, data lines, and I/O interfaces in consumer, industrial, and automotive applications requiring robust transient suppression.
