The Semtech SMF05.TCT is a Zener-type transient voltage suppression (TVS) diode array designed for general purpose circuit protection. It features a reverse standoff voltage of 5V and a maximum clamping voltage of 12.5V, providing robust protection against voltage transients. With a peak pulse current rating of 12A (8/20µs waveform) and a peak pulse power dissipation of 200W, this device is suitable for protecting sensitive electronics from ESD and other transient events.
The SMF05.TCT integrates four unidirectional channels in a single compact SC-70-5 surface mount package, making it ideal for space-constrained applications. It has a typical capacitance of 150pF at 1MHz, which is appropriate for general purpose signal lines. The device operates over a junction temperature range of -55°C to 125°C, ensuring reliable performance in harsh environments.
This TVS diode array is not intended for power line protection, but is well-suited for data lines, I/O ports, and other low-voltage signal interfaces. Its surface mount package (also compatible with 5-TSSOP and SOT-353 footprints) allows for automated assembly and high-density PCB designs.
