The SMDJ60A-HR is a 3000W surface mount TVS diode from Littelfuse's SMDJ-HR High Reliability series. It protects sensitive electronic equipment from voltage transients induced by lightning and other transient events. Key electrical specifications include a 60V reverse standoff voltage, 96.8V maximum clamping voltage at 31A peak pulse current (10/1000µs waveform), and a peak forward surge current of 300A (8.3ms). The device offers a fast response time of less than 1.0ps and low incremental surge resistance.
Designed for high reliability and automotive applications, the SMDJ60A-HR is AEC-Q101 qualified and features a glass passivated chip junction. It operates over a junction temperature range of -65°C to 150°C, with a maximum power dissipation of 6.5W on an infinite heat sink. Thermal resistance is 15°C/W junction-to-lead and 75°C/W junction-to-ambient.
The diode is housed in a DO-214AB (SMC) surface mount package with gull wing terminals, optimizing board space. It is RoHS compliant, halogen free, and UL recognized with flammability rating V-0. Typical applications include I/O interface protection, VCC bus protection, and circuits in telecom, computer, industrial, and consumer electronics.
