The SMDJ160CA is a bidirectional Zener TVS diode from Littelfuse Inc., designed to protect sensitive electronic equipment from voltage transients. It provides a reverse standoff voltage of 160V and a maximum clamping voltage of 259V at a peak pulse current of 11.6A (10/1000µs waveform). The device can dissipate up to 3000W of peak pulse power under the same test conditions.
This TVS diode features a very fast response time of less than 1ps and offers ESD protection up to 30kV for both air and contact discharge per IEC 61000-4-2. It is suitable for general purpose applications such as protecting I/O interfaces, VCC buses, and other vulnerable circuits in telecom, computer, industrial, and consumer electronics.
The SMDJ160CA is surface mount in a DO-214AB (SMC) package with matte tin lead-free terminals. It has an operating temperature range of -65°C to 150°C and a storage temperature range of -65°C to 175°C. The device meets MSL level 1 per J-STD-020 and is rated UL 94 V-0 for flammability. It is RoHS and halogen free compliant.
