The Vishay Dale SMCJ90CA-E3/57T is a Transient Voltage Suppressor (TVS) diode designed for protecting sensitive electronics from voltage transients. It features a bidirectional design with a standoff voltage of 5.0V to 188V and a breakdown voltage range of 6.4V to 231V.
This TVS diode has a peak pulse power dissipation rating of 1500W (1.5kW) for a 10/1000 µs waveform and a peak pulse current of 10.3A. The operating temperature range is -55°C to 150°C.
Packaged in a DO-214AB (SMC) surface mount case, it is suitable for automated placement. The molding compound meets UL 94 V-0 flammability rating. Terminals are matte tin plated and solderable per J-STD-002.
Typical applications include protection against voltage transients induced by inductive load switching and lighting on ICs, MOSFETs, and signal lines in consumer, computer, industrial, automotive, and telecommunication systems.
