The SMCJ90CA is a bidirectional TVS (transient voltage suppression) diode from Littelfuse's SMCJ series. It provides 1500W peak pulse power capability (10/1000µs waveform) with a reverse standoff voltage of 90V, minimum breakdown voltage of 100V, and maximum clamping voltage of 146V at a peak pulse current of 10.3A. The device features low incremental surge resistance and typical leakage current under 1µA.
Designed to protect sensitive electronic circuits from voltage transients induced by lightning and other transient events, it is suitable for I/O interfaces, VCC bus, and other vulnerable circuits in telecom, computer, industrial, and consumer electronics. The fast response time (typically less than 1.0ps) ensures rapid clamping of overvoltage spikes.
The SMCJ90CA is housed in a surface mount DO-214AB (SMC) package with a glass passivated chip junction. It operates over a temperature range of -55°C to 150°C and meets MSL Level 1 per J-STD-020. The device is RoHS compliant, halogen free, and features matte tin lead-free plating.
