The SMCJ85A-E3/57T is a transient voltage suppression (TVS) diode designed to protect sensitive electronic circuits from voltage transients. It features a minimum breakdown voltage of 85V and a maximum clamping voltage of 137V at a test current of 10.9A. The device can dissipate 1500W of peak pulse power under a 10/1000 μs waveform and withstand a peak forward surge current of 200A for an 8.3 ms single half sine-wave (unidirectional only). This TVS diode is supplied in a DO-214AB surface mount package, suitable for automated assembly. It is commonly used in overvoltage protection applications across power supplies, telecommunications, and industrial equipment.
