The SMCJ60A is a unidirectional TVS diode from Littelfuse Inc. designed to protect sensitive electronic equipment from voltage transients. It features a reverse standoff voltage of 60V and a maximum clamping voltage of 96.8V at a peak pulse current of 15.5A (10/1000µs waveform). With a peak pulse power rating of 1500W, this device is suitable for general purpose transient voltage suppression applications.
This TVS diode is housed in a DO-214AB (SMC) surface mount package, enabling compact PCB designs. It operates over a junction temperature range of -55°C to 150°C. The part is unidirectional, with a single protection channel, and is not intended for power line protection.
The SMCJ60A is part of the SMCJ series, which offers excellent clamping capability and low incremental surge resistance. Typical applications include I/O interface protection, VCC bus protection, and other vulnerable circuits in telecom, computer, industrial, and consumer electronics.
