The SMCJ54A is a 1500W unidirectional TVS diode designed for general purpose transient voltage suppression. It features a reverse standoff voltage of 87.1V and can handle peak pulse currents up to 17.3A under a 10/1000µs waveform. The device is built with Zener technology and is not intended for power line protection.
This TVS diode is surface mounted in a DO-214AB (SMC) package, making it suitable for compact PCB designs. It operates over a wide temperature range from -55°C to 150°C. The part is RoHS3 compliant, halogen free, and lead free with Pb-free E3 terminal finish.
Typical applications include protection of I/O interfaces, VCC bus, and other vulnerable circuits in telecom, computer, industrial, and consumer electronics. The device offers fast response and low incremental surge resistance for reliable circuit protection.
