The SMCJ51A is a unidirectional TVS diode from Taiwan Semiconductor designed for general purpose transient voltage suppression. It offers a reverse standoff voltage of 51V and a clamping voltage of 82.4V, capable of handling 18.2A peak pulse current and 1500W peak pulse power. The device is housed in a surface mount DO-214AB (SMC) package, suitable for automated assembly. It operates over a temperature range of -65°C to 150°C and is rated for 30kV ESD protection (air and contact) per IEC 61000-4-2, with a fast response time of less than 1ps. The SMCJ51A is intended for use in I/O interfaces, VCC bus protection, and other vulnerable circuits in telecom, computer, industrial, and consumer electronics.
