The SMCJ5.0A-TR is a unidirectional transient voltage suppression (TVS) diode from STMicroelectronics, designed for general purpose surge protection. It is based on Zener technology and provides a peak pulse power rating of 1500W (10/1000µs waveform). The reverse standoff voltage is 5V, with a clamping voltage of 13.4V at a peak pulse current of 746A (8/20µs waveform). This diode operates over a junction temperature range of -55°C to 150°C and is housed in a surface mount DO-214AB (SMC) package. The component is RoHS3 compliant (unverified) and has an MSL of 1 (unlimited). It is intended for use in general purpose applications requiring ESD and surge protection, such as power supply inputs, signal lines, and DC bus protection. The SMCJ5.0A-TR is not designed for power line protection.
