The SMCJ40A-TR is a unidirectional TVS (Transient Voltage Suppression) diode from STMicroelectronics, designed for general purpose circuit protection. It features a reverse standoff voltage (VRWM) of 40V and a clamping voltage of 84V, providing robust protection against voltage transients.
With a peak pulse power rating of 1500W (8/20µs) and a peak pulse current of 119A, this device can handle significant surge events. It is housed in a surface mount DO-214AB (SMC) package, making it suitable for automated assembly.
