The Littelfuse SMCJ33A is a unidirectional transient voltage suppression (TVS) diode designed to protect sensitive electronic equipment from voltage transients induced by lightning and other transient events. It offers a peak pulse power dissipation of 1500W per the 10/1000µs waveform, with a maximum clamping voltage of 53.3V and a peak pulse current of 28.2A.
This device is housed in a surface mount DO-214AB (SMC) package and supports an operating temperature range of -65°C to 150°C. It features excellent clamping capability, low incremental surge resistance, and a fast response time of less than 1.0ps. The SMCJ33A is halogen free, RoHS compliant, and meets MSL level 1 per J-STD-020.
Typical applications include I/O interfaces, VCC bus protection, and other vulnerable circuits in telecom, computer, industrial, and consumer electronics. The part also provides ESD protection per IEC 61000-4-2 (30kV air/contact) and EFT protection per IEC 61000-4-4.
