The SMCJ30CA is a bidirectional TVS diode from the SMCJ series, designed to protect sensitive electronic equipment from voltage transients induced by lightning and other transient voltage events. It offers a peak pulse power of 1500W (10/1000µs waveform) with excellent clamping capability.
Key electrical specifications include a reverse standoff voltage of 30V, minimum breakdown voltage of 33.3V, and maximum clamping voltage of 48.4V at 31A peak pulse current. The device features a typical reverse leakage current of less than 1µA when the breakdown voltage is above 12V, and a fast response time typically less than 1.0ps from 0V to breakdown voltage.
This TVS diode is suitable for general purpose applications such as I/O interfaces, VCC bus, and other vulnerable circuits in telecom, computer, industrial, and consumer electronics. It is RoHS compliant and halogen free, with a glass passivated chip junction for high reliability.
The SMCJ30CA is surface mount in a DO-214AB (SMC) package, with an operating temperature range of -55°C to 150°C. It meets MSL level 1 per J-STD-020 and is suitable for high temperature reflow soldering up to 260°C/30 seconds.
