The SMCJ26CA-E3/57T is a 1500W bidirectional transient voltage suppressor (TVS) diode from Vishay's TRANSZORB series. It features a Zener clamping mechanism with a reverse standoff voltage of 26V and a maximum clamping voltage of 42.1V at 35.6A peak pulse current (10/1000µs waveform). The device offers very fast response time and low incremental surge resistance, making it suitable for protecting sensitive electronic circuits from voltage transients induced by inductive load switching, lightning, and other surge events.
This TVS diode is designed for general-purpose applications across consumer, computer, industrial, automotive, and telecommunications equipment. It is housed in a surface-mount DO-214AB (SMC) package with matte tin plated terminals for excellent solderability. The operating junction temperature range is -55°C to +150°C. The E3 suffix indicates RoHS-compliant commercial grade, but it is not halogen-free.
With a peak pulse power dissipation of 1500W and a peak forward surge current capability of 200A (unidirectional only), this diode provides robust protection in a compact, low-profile package suitable for automated placement.
