The SMCJ24CA from Littelfuse Inc. is a bidirectional TVS diode designed to protect sensitive electronic equipment from voltage transients. It features a 24V reverse standoff voltage, a minimum breakdown voltage of 26.7V, and a maximum clamping voltage of 38.9V at 38.6A peak pulse current (10/1000µs waveform). With a peak pulse power rating of 1500W, it offers robust protection for I/O interfaces, VCC bus, and other vulnerable circuits in telecom, computer, industrial, and consumer applications.
This component is housed in a surface-mount DO-214AB (SMC) package, suitable for automated assembly. It operates over a temperature range of -55°C to 150°C and has a fast response time of less than 1.0ps. The device is halogen-free, Pb-free (E3), and RoHS compliant, with an MSL level of 1 per J-STD-020. Additional features include low leakage current (<1µA for VBR>12V) and excellent clamping capability.
