The SMCJ18A is a unidirectional transient voltage suppression (TVS) diode from Littelfuse, part of the SMCJ series rated at 1500W peak pulse power dissipation (10/1000µs waveform). It is designed to protect sensitive electronic circuits from voltage transients induced by lightning, inductive load switching, and electrostatic discharge. The device offers a working peak reverse voltage of 18V, with a minimum breakdown voltage of 20V and maximum of 22.1V at 1mA test current. The clamping voltage is 29.2V at the peak pulse current of 51.4A. Reverse leakage current is a maximum of 1µA at the working voltage. The diode is housed in a surface mount DO-214AB (SMC) package, suitable for automated assembly. It operates over a junction temperature range of -55°C to 150°C.
