The Littelfuse SMCJ16CA is a bidirectional transient voltage suppression (TVS) diode designed to protect sensitive electronic equipment from voltage transients induced by lightning and other transient events. It offers a peak pulse power dissipation of 1500W for a 10/1000µs waveform, with a reverse standoff voltage of 16V and a maximum clamping voltage of 26V at 57.7A peak pulse current.
This device features excellent clamping capability and low incremental surge resistance. It is housed in a surface-mount DO-214AB (SMC) package, suitable for automated assembly. The SMCJ16CA is halogen-free and RoHS compliant, with a moisture sensitivity level of 1 (unlimited). It is designed for general-purpose applications such as I/O interface protection, VCC bus protection, and other vulnerable circuits in telecom, computer, industrial, and consumer electronics.
