The SMCJ15CA-E3/57T is a bidirectional transient voltage suppressor (TVS) diode from Vishay General Semiconductor. It is designed to protect sensitive electronics from voltage transients induced by inductive load switching and lightning. This device features a reverse standoff voltage of 15 V and a maximum clamping voltage of 24.4 V at a peak pulse current of 61.5 A (10/1000 µs waveform). It can handle 1500 W of peak pulse power under the same conditions.
The diode has a glass passivated chip junction and offers very fast response time. It is suitable for general purpose applications in consumer, computer, industrial, automotive, and telecommunication systems. The operating temperature range is -55°C to 150°C.
The SMCJ15CA-E3/57T is supplied in a surface mount DO-214AB (SMC) package. The terminals are matte tin plated and solderable per J-STD-002 and JESD 22-B102. The molding compound meets UL 94 V-0 flammability rating. The E3 suffix indicates RoHS-compliant commercial grade.
