The SMCJ15A-TR is a unidirectional TVS (Transient Voltage Suppression) diode manufactured by STMicroelectronics. It is designed to protect sensitive electronic circuits from voltage transients induced by lightning, inductive load switching, and electrostatic discharge. The device features a Zener clamping diode structure with a peak pulse power rating of 1500W (10/1000µs waveform) and a peak pulse current capability of 308A (8/20µs waveform). Its reverse standoff voltage is 15V, and its maximum clamping voltage is 32.5V at the peak pulse current.
This TVS diode is suitable for general purpose circuit protection applications where unidirectional protection is required. It is surface mountable and comes in a DO-214AB (SMC) package, which offers a compact footprint for automated assembly. The operating temperature range is -55°C to 150°C, making it suitable for a wide range of environments.
