The Vishay Dale SMCG15A-E3/57T is a TRANSZORB® Transient Voltage Suppressor (TVS) diode designed for protecting sensitive electronics from voltage transients. It features a low profile SMCG (DO-215AB) package suitable for automated placement.
This unidirectional TVS diode has a nominal operating voltage of 15V and a clamping voltage of 24.4V at 15A. It can handle a peak pulse power of 1500W with a 10/1000 μs waveform and a peak forward surge current of 200A for 8.3 ms (unidirectional only). The device operates over a wide temperature range of -55°C to 150°C.
Typical applications include protection against voltage transients induced by inductive load switching and lighting on ICs, MOSFETs, and signal lines in consumer, computer, industrial, automotive, and telecommunication systems. The glass passivated chip junction ensures excellent clamping capability and fast response time.
The SMCG (DO-215AB) package is designed for surface mounting. The terminals are matte tin plated and solderable per J-STD-002 and JESD 22-B102. The molding compound meets UL 94 V-0 flammability rating.
