The SMC30J48A is a unidirectional transient voltage suppression (TVS) diode manufactured by STMicroelectronics. It is designed to protect sensitive electronic circuits from voltage transients induced by lightning, inductive load switching, and electrostatic discharge.
This device offers a reverse standoff voltage of 48V and a maximum clamping voltage of 76.6V. It can handle a peak pulse current of 38A and a peak pulse power of 3000W (3kW) under standard test conditions. The diode is rated for general purpose applications and operates over a junction temperature range of -55°C to 175°C.
