The SMC30J15A is a unidirectional TVS (Transient Voltage Suppression) diode designed for general purpose circuit protection. It is manufactured by STMicroelectronics and comes in a surface-mount SMC package.
With a reverse standoff voltage of 15V and a maximum clamping voltage of 24.4V at 123A peak pulse current (10/1000µs waveform), it provides robust protection against voltage transients. The device can handle up to 3000W (3kW) of peak pulse power.
This TVS diode is intended for general purpose applications where protection against overvoltage events is required. It is not intended for power line protection. The unidirectional configuration makes it suitable for DC line protection.
The device is housed in a DO-214AB (SMC) package, which is surface mountable. It operates over a wide temperature range of -55°C to 175°C. The moisture sensitivity level is rated as MSL 1 (unlimited).
