The Vishay Dale SMBJ8.5A-E3/52 is a TRANSZORB® Transient Voltage Suppressor (TVS) diode designed for protecting sensitive electronics from voltage transients. It features a low profile SMB (DO-214AA) package, making it ideal for automated placement on printed circuit boards.
This unidirectional TVS diode has a working voltage of 5.0 V to 188 V and a breakdown voltage ranging from 6.4 V to 231 V. It provides excellent clamping capability with a nominal clamping voltage of 14.4 V at a peak pulse current of 41.7 A (10/1000 μs waveform). The device offers a significant peak pulse power dissipation of 600 W.
Designed for general-purpose applications, the SMBJ8.5A-E3/52 operates reliably within a temperature range of -55°C to 150°C (TJ). Its glass-passivated chip junction ensures high performance and durability. The terminals are matte tin plated and solderable per industry standards.
