The SMBJ78A is a unidirectional transient voltage suppressor (TVS) diode from Littelfuse Inc. It is designed for general purpose transient voltage protection in electronic circuits. This device offers a reverse standoff voltage of 78V, a minimum breakdown voltage of 86.7V, and a maximum clamping voltage of 126V at 4.8A peak pulse current.
The SMBJ78A can handle 600W of peak pulse power under a 10/1000µs waveform, making it suitable for surge protection applications. It operates over a junction temperature range of -65°C to 150°C and is housed in a surface mount DO-214AA (SMB) package. The unidirectional design provides fast response to overvoltage events.
