The Bourns SMBJ75A is a 600W transient voltage suppression (TVS) diode from the SMBJ series, designed for surge and ESD protection in portable communications, computing, and video equipment. It features a Zener clamping mechanism with a reverse standoff voltage of 75V and a maximum clamping voltage of 121V at a peak pulse current of 5A (10/1000µs waveform). This unidirectional device is housed in a surface-mount DO-214AA (SMB) package, offering a compact footprint for space-constrained designs. The SMBJ75A is RoHS compliant and supports operating temperatures from -55°C to +150°C. The SMBJ series offers typical fast response times of less than 1.0 picosecond for unidirectional devices and a peak forward surge current rating of 100A (8.3ms). It is suitable for general-purpose circuit protection applications requiring fast response times and reliable overvoltage clamping, meeting IEC 61000-4-2 ESD, IEC 61000-4-4 EFT, and IEC 61000-4-5 surge standards.
