The Bourns SMBJ7.0A is a unidirectional transient voltage suppressor diode from the SMBJ series. It provides protection against voltage transients in general purpose applications. Key specifications include a reverse standoff voltage of 7 V, a minimum breakdown voltage of 7.78 V, and a maximum clamping voltage of 12 V at a peak pulse current of 50 A (10/1000 µs waveform). The device can dissipate up to 600 W of peak pulse power under the same test condition.
This TVS diode is designed for surface mount assembly and comes in a DO-214AA (SMB) package. It operates over a junction temperature range of -55°C to 150°C. The component is suitable for IEC 61000-4-2 ESD (level 4), IEC 61000-4-4 EFT, and IEC 61000-4-5 surge protection requirements. It is not intended for power line protection.
