The SMBJ7.0A is a unidirectional transient voltage suppressor diode manufactured by Littelfuse Inc. It is designed to protect sensitive electronic circuits from voltage transients induced by lightning, inductive load switching, and electrostatic discharge.
Key electrical specifications include a reverse standoff voltage of 7V, a minimum breakdown voltage of 7.78V, and a maximum clamping voltage of 12V at a peak pulse current of 50A (10/1000µs waveform). The device can handle 600W of peak pulse power under the same test conditions. It is not intended for power line protection and is rated for general purpose applications.
