The Littelfuse SMBJ6.5CA is a 600W bidirectional transient voltage suppression (TVS) diode designed to protect sensitive electronic equipment from voltage transients induced by lightning and other transient voltage events. It is part of the SMBJ series and is housed in a surface mount DO-214AA (SMB) package.
This TVS diode offers a reverse standoff voltage of 6.5V and a maximum clamping voltage of 11.2V at a peak pulse current of 53.6A (10/1000µs waveform). It provides 600W of peak pulse power dissipation and is suitable for general purpose applications. The device is RoHS3 compliant and has an operating temperature range of -65°C to 150°C.
The SMBJ6.5CA is ideal for protecting I/O interfaces, VCC bus, and other vulnerable circuits in telecom, computer, industrial, and consumer electronic applications. Its bidirectional configuration makes it suitable for protecting AC lines or circuits where polarity is not fixed.
