The Vishay Dale SMBJ6.5A-E3/52 is a transient voltage suppressor (TVS) diode designed for protecting sensitive electronics from voltage transients. It features a low profile DO-214AA (SMB) package, making it suitable for automated placement on printed circuit boards.
This unidirectional TVS diode has an operating voltage of 6.5V and a clamping voltage of 11.2V. It is capable of handling 600W of peak pulse power with a 10/1000 μs waveform and a peak surge current of 3.3A (8.3 ms single half sine-wave). The operating temperature range is -55°C to 150°C.
Typical applications include protection against voltage transients induced by inductive load switching and lighting on ICs, MOSFETs, and signal lines in consumer, computer, industrial, and telecommunication equipment. The device is ideal for automated placement and offers excellent clamping capability and very fast response time.
It is mounted using a surface mount termination style. The SMBJ6.5A-E3/52 is compliant with RoHS3 standards and has a Moisture Sensitivity Level (MSL) of 1.
