The SMBJ5.0A-HR is a Zener-type TVS diode designed for transient voltage suppression. It has a reverse standoff voltage of 5V, a minimum breakdown voltage of 6.4V, and a maximum clamping voltage of 9.2V at 65.3A peak pulse current (10/1000µs waveform). The peak pulse power rating is 600W.
The device is unidirectional with a single channel and is not intended for power line protection. It operates over a temperature range of -65°C to 150°C.
The diode is surface mounted in a DO-214AA (SMB) package. It is RoHS3 compliant and has an MSL of 1 (unlimited). Suitable for general purpose applications requiring transient voltage protection.
