The SMBJ5.0A is a unidirectional transient voltage suppressor (TVS) diode designed to protect sensitive electronics from voltage transients and surges. It offers a reverse standoff voltage of 5 V, a clamping voltage of 9.2 V, and can handle peak pulse current up to 65.3 A under a 10/1000 µs waveform, with a peak pulse power rating of 600 W. The device operates over a junction temperature range of -55°C to +150°C and is housed in a compact DO-214AA (SMB) surface mount package, suitable for automated assembly. This component is intended for general purpose circuit protection applications, including IEC 61000-4-2 ESD, EFT, and surge protection.
