The SMBJ48A-TR is a unidirectional transient voltage suppression (TVS) diode manufactured by STMicroelectronics. It is designed to protect sensitive electronics from voltage transients induced by lightning, inductive load switching, and electrostatic discharge. This device features a reverse standoff voltage of 48V and a clamping voltage of 77.4V, with a peak pulse current rating of 8.1A. It can handle 600W of peak pulse power (10/1000µs waveform). The diode operates over a junction temperature range of -55°C to 150°C. It is housed in a compact DO-214AA (SMB) surface mount package, suitable for automated assembly. The part is RoHS3 compliant, REACH unaffected, and has an MSL of 1 (unlimited). Note: datasheet must be consulted for detailed electrical characteristics.
