The SMBJ36CA-E3/52 is a bidirectional transient voltage suppressor diode from Vishay General Semiconductor, designed to protect sensitive electronics from voltage transients. It features a reverse standoff voltage of 36V and a maximum clamping voltage of 58.1V at a peak pulse current of 10.3A (10/1000 µs waveform). The device is rated for 600W peak pulse power and dissipates up to 5.0W with an infinite heatsink at 50°C.
This TVS diode is housed in a surface-mount DO-214AA (SMBJ) package, suitable for automated assembly. It operates over a junction temperature range of -55°C to 150°C and is RoHS3 compliant (E3 suffix). The part is intended for general-purpose applications including consumer, computer, industrial, and telecom equipment requiring circuit protection against inductive load switching and lightning-induced transients.
The SMBJ36CA-E3/52 uses glass passivated chip junction technology for reliable performance and offers excellent clamping capability with very fast response time. It meets MSL level 1 per J-STD-020.
