The SMBJ28CA-TR is a bidirectional transient voltage suppression (TVS) diode from STMicroelectronics designed to protect sensitive electronics from voltage spikes.
With a reverse standoff voltage of 28V, this device clamps transients at 45.4V, handling peak pulse currents up to 13.8A. It delivers 600W of peak pulse power, suitable for general-purpose overvoltage protection applications.
The diode is housed in a compact DO-214AA (SMB) surface-mount package, enabling automated assembly and saving board space. It operates over a wide temperature range from -55°C to 150°C.
