The SMBJ28CA-E3/52 is a 600W bidirectional transient voltage suppressor (TVS) diode from Vishay's SMBJ series, designed to protect sensitive electronics from voltage transients. It features a reverse standoff voltage of 28V and a clamping voltage of 45.5V at a peak pulse current of 13.2A (10/1000μs waveform). The device uses a glass passivated chip junction for reliable performance.
This TVS diode is suitable for general-purpose protection against inductive load switching and lightning-induced transients in consumer, computer, industrial, and telecommunication equipment. It offers very fast response time and excellent clamping capability.
The part is packaged in a surface-mount DO-214AA (SMB) case with matte tin plated terminals, ideal for automated placement. It operates over a temperature range of -55°C to 150°C and has a power dissipation of 5.0W.
