The SMBJ28CA is a bidirectional transient voltage suppressor (TVS) diode designed for surge and ESD protection in electronic circuits. It offers a reverse standoff voltage of 28V, a minimum breakdown voltage of 31.1V, and a maximum clamping voltage of 45.4V at a peak pulse current of 13.2A (10/1000µs waveform). The device can dissipate up to 600W of peak pulse power.
Housed in a surface mount DO-214AA (SMB) package, the SMBJ28CA is suitable for automated assembly and operates over a temperature range of -55°C to 150°C. Typical applications include protection against IEC 61000-4-2 ESD, IEC 61000-4-4 EFT, and IEC 61000-4-5 surge events.
