The SMBJ28A is a unidirectional Zener TVS diode designed for overvoltage protection in general-purpose circuits. It features a working peak reverse voltage of 28V and a clamping voltage of 45.4V at a peak pulse current of 13.3A. The device can handle 600W of peak pulse power dissipation (10/1000 µs waveform), making it suitable for surge and transient suppression.
This TVS diode utilizes Zener technology for fast response, with a typical response time of less than 1.0 ps from 0V to breakdown. It is rated for operating temperatures from -55°C to 150°C and storage from -55°C to 150°C. The unidirectional polarity simplifies circuit design for single-line protection.
