The SMBJ26CA is a bidirectional TVS diode from Littelfuse, part of the SMBJ series. It is designed to protect sensitive electronic equipment from voltage transients induced by lightning and other transient voltage events. The device features a Zener technology with a 600W peak pulse power capability at 10/1000μs waveform and a peak pulse current of 14.3A. It provides a clamping voltage of 42.1V at the peak pulse current. The reverse standoff voltage is 26V, with a minimum breakdown voltage of 28.9V and maximum of 31.9V.
The SMBJ26CA offers excellent clamping capability and low incremental surge resistance. It has a fast response time of typically less than 1.0ps from 0V to VBR min. The device provides ESD protection of 30kV air and 30kV contact per IEC 61000-4-2, making it suitable for data line protection. It also meets EFT protection per IEC 61000-4-4.
The TVS diode is housed in a DO-214AA (SMB) surface mount package, allowing for space-optimized board designs. It is RoHS3 compliant, halogen free, and has a Pb-free E3 terminal finish. The operating temperature range is -65°C to 150°C (TJ). The device is suitable for protecting I/O interfaces, VCC bus, and other vulnerable circuits in telecom, computer, industrial, and consumer electronic applications.
