The SMBJ250CA is a bidirectional TVS diode from Littelfuse designed to protect sensitive electronic equipment from voltage transients. It features a 250V reverse standoff voltage and a clamping voltage of 405V at a peak pulse current of 1.5A (10/1000μs waveform). With a peak pulse power dissipation of 600W, it provides robust protection for I/O interfaces, VCC bus, and other vulnerable circuits in telecom, computer, industrial, and consumer applications.
The device is housed in a surface-mount DO-214AA (SMB) package, suitable for automated assembly. It operates over a wide temperature range of -65°C to 150°C. The SMBJ250CA is RoHS3 compliant, halogen free, and lead free (E3). It meets MSL level 1 (unlimited) and is UL recognized for flammability class V-0.
This TVS diode offers fast response time (typically less than 1.0ps) and low incremental surge resistance. It is ideal for protecting data lines against ESD per IEC 61000-4-2 and EFT per IEC 61000-4-4. The bidirectional configuration allows use in AC or polarity-independent applications.
