The Vishay Dale SMBJ24A-E3/5B is a surface-mount Transient Voltage Suppressor (TVS) diode designed for protecting sensitive electronics from voltage transients. It features a low profile DO-214AA (SMB) package, making it suitable for automated placement.
This TVS diode provides 600W of peak pulse power dissipation with a 10/1000 μs waveform. It has a working voltage of 24V and a clamping voltage of 38.9V at a peak pulse current of 15.4A. The operating temperature range is -55°C to 150°C (TJ).
Applications include protection against voltage transients induced by inductive load switching and lighting on ICs, MOSFETs, and signal lines in consumer, computer, industrial, and telecommunication equipment. The device is available in unidirectional configurations.
Key features include excellent clamping capability, very fast response time, and low incremental surge resistance. It meets MSL level 1 per J-STD-020.
